Welcome to CollabREP

This application has been created to provide easy access to the summary information of capacity building projects, i.e. projects which provide different applications, serve different user communities and target the geographical reach of less advantaged areas in the world. Projects which are or have been active in capacity building are invited to contribute their data.

The objective is to promote awareness and encourage the creation of a network of competences and collaborations among the organisations involved. This should also contribute to the creation of a sound base for shaping new programmes and building new projects in the future.

CollabREP is hosted in the ESA Telecom web site and the results will be made publicly available. The inventory consists of a structured, web-based form covering Programmatic, Technical, Operational, Business and Impact Assessments Aspects.

User Profiles

All users need to be registered to receive an account. They can then either create new projects and contribute to the web inventory or read the projects listed and gain invaluable insight to synergies and lessons learned.

Project creators are those users responsible for submitting project data such as the Project Manager of the project consortium or the Technical Officer. Projects can be created and edited from the user's personalized User Profile page. Upon creation of a new project the user will automatically be assigned the "writer" role but can also add other users as writers. Only one writer at a time can make modifications to a project.

All users will see a list of the projects available when they enter the web inventory. A search interface with a filtering mechanism allows them to search the published projects by one of the entry fields and filter them on the basis of one or more entry fields. There is also the option to choose the layout of the results from a number of possible templates and export the list to a PDF document.

CollabREP is managed by an ESA administrator who will approve user accounts, new projects and edited projects making it a useful, reliable and trusted source of information.

This application offers the following functionality:

User Site

Log In - Log in or request an account.

User Profile - Once users have received account information they can login. After login the user is directed to his/her personalized profile page that contains user information and functionality to update one's settings (e.g. password). This will also list all projects for which the user is writer and gives the user a link to the project creation page.

Projects - Shows a list of current projects. It allows users to browse the projects and export project information as PDF. It is the starting point to add new projects.

Administrative Site

Administrative interface - This can be used to modify the database directly. For administrators and content managers.
